Great for the price

I imagine some of the WinMail.dat viewers either integrate with Finder or Apple Mail, let you quick-view the contents, or whatever. I might try them at some point. But this one is easy enough and its free. Since we’ll only be using it a few times a week, it’s perfect.

Here’s a tip: run the viewer, then right-click the dock icon and select Options -> Keep in Dock. Now you simply drag winmail.dat files from your emails onto the viewer in the dock, even if the viewer isn’t running yet.
